Weekly pollen and fungal spore forecast summary

Pollen Forecast for West Midlands forecast region until 17th July:  Pollen: Moderately High risk from grass and moderate risk from weeds; Spores: High risk from Cladosporium.

Grass Pollen Count - High

 Pollen forecast for grass with a high orange pollen count.

Grass pollen is now at moderately high levels, with the worst of the season now over and the risk expected to drop to moderate over this forecast period. The risk will be greatest in the first half of the morning and again from late afternoon into the early evening. 

Tree Pollen Count - Low

 Pollen forecast for trees with a low green pollen count.

Sweet chestnut pollen is currently airborne and the last of the lime pollen. These pollen types affect a small minority of hay fever sufferers.

Fungal Spore Levels - High

 Pollen forecast for spores with a high orange pollen count.

Cladosporium at high risk on warm, dry days above 17°C.  Alternaria spores will gradually increase with more significant risk from mid-July. Other spore types will be low for now, awaiting some rain for the spores to be produced.

Weed Pollen Count - Moderate

 Pollen forecast for weeds with a moderate yellow pollen count.

Nettle family pollen at a moderate risk.
