The University of Worcester offers a range of professional development opportunities for staff engaged in learning and teaching.
New to Teaching in HE Workshops
This two-day workshop is aimed at staff who are new to higher education or University of Worcester in roles that support student learning, such as lecturer, associate lecturer, technician or post-graduate student. Day 1 offers an overview of learning and teaching at University of Worcester, whilst Day 2 explores University of Worcester technology and systems, including Blackboard Ultra and Sole. The workshop also provides a valuable opportunity to discuss methods for engaging students in learning, teaching, and assessment strategies, and offers a supportive environment for asking questions about your new role.
This policy outlines the objectives, expectations, and principles that underpin the peer-supported review of practice (PSRP) at the University. Responsibility for implementing PSRP is devolved to Schools/Institutes (and professional support departments that wish to implement such a scheme). Guidance on implementing a scheme at the School, Institute or Departmental level is also included.
This part-time course is specifically designed for those currently working in Higher Education who support student learning for at least four hours per week. Our Postgraduate Certificate enables you to be awarded Fellowship through Advance HE, and it can be studied alongside your day job. The course consists of three modules that provide you with the opportunity to gain knowledge, understanding, and capabilities in learning, teaching, assessment, and academic practice.
