A beautiful, cathedral city in the heart of the English countryside, Worcester offers a unique combination of small-town charm and big-city sophistication.
Worcester is located in one of the most attractive parts of England. It is situated 45 minutes away from Birmingham by train and 2 hours away from London by road or rail.
Idyllically situated between two areas of outstanding beauty, Worcester is surrounded by the rolling Malvern Hills and the Cotswolds, and offers sensational views of the Severn Valley.
Renowned for its captivating history and colourful culture, the compact city centre has a large variety of riverside cafes, bars, stylish shops, museums, theatres, and plenty of live cultural events.
The University has two main sites: the St John's Campus and the City Campus. The campuses are a pleasant 20 minute walk from each other, over the River and around the Race course. The University Arena and Riverside building and the Garage are conveniently situated between the two. The Hive, the University's £60 million pound library, is next to the City Campus.
Travelling around the city is easy, whether you’re exploring on foot, by bicycle or by bus. With University campuses and facilities within a 20-minute walk of each other and the city centre nearby, you can head out on foot or borrow a bicycle through the University’s Cycle Loan Scheme. Alternatively, you can hop on a bus right from campus, with student semester bus tickets available for £75.
The University promotes sustainable travel for students, staff and visitors. We have car share and bike loan schemes, and subsidised bus tickets are available.
