Shortly after completing her studies at the University of Worcester this year, Becky was successful in securing a job in the Forensics Department at West Mercia Police.
“My area of interest has always been within Forensic Science and throughout my degree I thoroughly enjoyed all of the modules, particularly Crime Scene Investigation, Interpretation, Evaluation and Reporting of Evidence, Forensic DNA analysis, and Biological Indicators for Crime Reporting,” she said.
Becky, a former pupil at Pershore High School, said she was delighted to have achieved First Class Honours in her degree.
“I was immensely proud of my outstanding achievement, as I had worked incredibly hard over the three-year course. I was overjoyed to have accomplished this result,” she said.
“During my final year, the pandemic disrupted the process of my degree in taking lectures and exams online, which was a first for me and a challenging situation. However, due to the outstanding support from the University, the excellent quality and innovative teaching methods provided from staff made learning online interactive and enjoyable.
“Additionally, the knowledge and passion displayed from Kate and Keith Unwin on this course was exceptional and they were always there to offer support if necessary, including one-to-one sessions, answering email queries at any time, and online Zoom meetings.”
The University of Worcester’s Forensic Science team was recently awarded second place at the HE Innovate Awards in the most innovative hybrid / blended learning project category for its innovative work providing virtual crime scenes during the pandemic.
