I'm known as MJ.

I am a Dementia Nurse Specialist for Barchester Healthcare, who have 250+ nursing and residential homes and six independent hospitals within the UK.

My area of research is looking at the links between Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Dementia.

I qualified as a general nurse (RGN) and Mental Health Nurse (RMN) in 1989. Since then I have worked in a variety of nursing and teaching positions; this includes four years working on a unit for people with HIV related dementia, travelling across India as an HIV educator and three years as "the condom queen" of Dudley (Specialist Health Promotion Advisor for Young People!)
