The scheme links Worcester Business School with local organisations, giving students real-world experience through guest lecturers, placements, mentoring and site visits.
Laura Swain, Business Development Manager at Worcester Business School, said: “The awards ceremony was a milestone moment for us. It was fantastic to be able to recognise students who embody the values ARC and we’d like to congratulate all of the nominees and winners.”
She added: “It was also a great opportunity to thank our ARC partners, who have provided financial support, time, and expertise to our students.”
Students from a range of disciplines received awards, from Computing and Cyber Security to Business, Finance and MBA courses.
Connect Award winner Sophie Jew said: “The ARC programme is a brilliant opportunity for students to engage and build connections with the local business community, and I’m very grateful to the University and to the Business School for the opportunity.”
“The awards ceremony was a really enjoyable and memorable experience,” she added. “Students, staff and local businesses celebrated everyone’s achievements together.”
Sophie, in the second year of her Business and HR degree, continued: “Winning the Connect ARC Award is a real honour and I am very grateful to be recognised for my achievements. Receiving it has given me a real confidence boost and will motivate me going forward into my final year of studies.”
Dr Abdulmaten Taroun, Head of Department of Management and Finance, said: “It was a great event, celebrating an important milestone in our ARC journey. Many congratulations to the nominees and winners.”
“You’re all winners in my eyes!” he added, and he paid tribute to the partners of the ARC scheme. “Without your support and generosity, we wouldn’t have done it. It’s very pleasing to see the ARC programme moving forward, it gets better and better and I’m sure our ARC community will continue to grow.”
