Student views

We have a good number of African students, joining our International Community every year. Please read what one of our Tanzanian students has to say about Worcester.

Elizabeth Michael Chigua from Tanzania

Applied Health Sciences BSc (Hons)

My name is Elizabeth Michael Chigua, aged 36 years old, a lady from the Eastern part of Africa namely Tanzania which qualifies my citizen. I am undertaking Applied Health Sciences BSc (Hons).

Currently I am working at Muheza Nursing School which is owned by Anglican Church of Tanzania, Diocese of Tanga located in Tanga region (Northern part of Tanzania). I have been employed as a registered Nurse and Midwife with an Advanced Diploma in Nursing Education awarded in the year 2002.

Muheza is linked with Hereford which helps with my education affairs..

In 2007 the Link brought me to the UK on a study tour and I had the opportunity to visit this University. Its physical appearance, the beauty and kindness of people I met, aroused my interest and I thought it would be an excellent place to realise my vision.

The social environment is conducive for learning, well equipped with learning and teaching facilities together with an organized Education system which qualifies me to undertake Applied Health Sciences BSc (Hons) for one year while in Tanzania it would be for 3 years, this is probably the major reason which has driven me to come in UK. The City of Worcester is beautiful with a wonderful Cathedral.

I love Worcester!
