We help students to improve their English and foreign language skills, and provide training to teach English as a foreign language.
The Language Centre offers a range of options to help you improve your English, learn a new language or develop the knowledge and skills you need to teach English as a foreign language.
If you want to improve your essay, report or presentation, book an Academic English support session. You may also be interested in registering for the 15-credit level 4 module 'Improving English Usage and Style in Academic Writing' (LANG1002 for native speakers and LANG1003 for non-native speakers of English).
Language skills are highly valued by employers and broaden your horizon generally. We currently offer French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish for beginners as 15-credit modules for first or second-year students.
Our TEFL and CELTA modules help you improve your language and teaching awareness and open up job opportunities all over the world.
The Language Centre staff are based in the Jenny Lind building on the University's City Campus. You're welcome to pop in, or get in touch to book an appointment.
