Michelle Morgan joined the University of Worcester School of Sport and Exercise Science full-time in 2011, after fulfilling a number of part-time roles within the School during both her undergraduate and MSc studies. Michelle has a range of experiences in sports coaching (both in the UK and USA) with a Netball specialism as a UKCC Level 3 coach. In her role as a Senior Lecturer for the BSc (Hons) Sports Coaching Science degree, Michelle uses her industry and academic experiences to support and develop students’ understanding of the demands of the sporting industry, including the skills and qualities needed to be employable.

Teaching & Research

Michelle teaches on a number of modules within the School of Sport and Exercise Science, focusing predominantly on Sports Coaching, the dynamics around team sport and building coach-athlete relationships.

  • 2016 Nominee for the Teacher of the Year at the England Netball Goalden Globes (West Midlands)
  • 2014 Winner of the Contribution to Sport within Higher Education Award at the Worcester City Sports Awards 2014/15
  • Nominee for Students Choice Awards (2018/19, 2017/18, 2016/17) including: Module Excellence Award, Outstanding Lecturer Award and Award for Exceptional Personal Academic Tutor
  • 2018 Coach at Visions in Education Netball Camp in La Manga, Spain
  • 2016 Head Coach of the University of Worcester at the FISU World University Netball Games in Miami, Florida
  • 2016 Assistant Coach of International Netball Tournament at Disney World, Florida
