Andy Taylor taught for 16 years in schools in Gloucestershire and for 10 of those mentored new and experienced staff. Over his time in schools Andy has honed his coaching and mentoring skills to support NQTs and trainee teachers in building their strengths to be the best teachers they can be. He now works for the University of Worcester and supports the primary department with developing its provision for supporting pupil behaviour and working to develop the Early Career Teacher Community.

Since joining the university, I have held a number of key roles, including PGCE course leader and Assessment Only Route Co-Ordinator.  I am currently the Regional Training Hub (RTH) Co-Ordinator for the primary department. This role involves working closely with colleagues in school to deliver the Primary PGCE from the University of Worcester, in local areas to enable access to teacher training for a wider number of students.  I also currently share the Strategic Partnership Lead role for the primary department – which builds on the professional partnerships forged in my RTH role to ensure effective school partnerships support trainees across the pathways offered in the department
