Health Hub Physiotherapy Clinic
The Health Hub Physiotherapy Clinic at the University of Worcester provides physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation services for a range of injuries, long-term conditions, and mobility difficulties.
The Health Hub is a student-led clinic where students work alongside qualified physiotherapy staff in a supportive clinical environment. This allows patients to receive safe, supportive, and evidence-based care within a professional clinical environment.
We support people with:
- Back and neck pain
- Sports injuries
- Joint and muscle pain
- Respiratory conditions
- Rehabilitation after injury
- Arthritis and mobility problems
- Neurological conditions
- Balance and movement difficulties
The clinic is located within the McClelland Centre, in the Charles Hastings building at Worcester University City Campus and offers accessible facilities, step-free access, and patient parking.
What to expect at your physiotherapy appointment
We understand that attending a new healthcare appointment can sometimes feel unfamiliar or stressful. The information below explains what to expect before, during, and after your physiotherapy appointment at the Health Hub Clinic.
Before your appointment
Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your appointment time to allow time to find the clinic and settle into the waiting area.
To help prepare for your physiotherapy appointment:
- Wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement
- Bring any relevant medical information or medication lists if appropriate
- Bring a water bottle if attending an exercise or gym-based rehabilitation session
- Contact us before your appointment if you require additional support or accessibility adjustments.
- Ensure you have filled out an initial referral form if it is your first time visiting the clinic
During your appointment
Your physiotherapy session will be carried out by student physiotherapists supported by a qualified physiotherapist.
Appointments may include:
- Discussion about your symptoms and goals
- Physical assessment and movement testing
- Exercise-based rehabilitation
- Advice and education to support recovery.
Student physiotherapists may briefly step out of your session to discuss your care with supervising clinicians to support learning and ensure safe patient care.
Student-led care
Your appointment will be carried out by student physiotherapists in a supported clinical learning environment.
Qualified and registered physiotherapy staff are available throughout clinic sessions to provide guidance, answer questions, and support clinical decision-making where needed.
Students may step out to discuss aspects of your assessment or treatment with supervising staff during your appointment. This collaborative approach helps support both patient care and student learning. Students are on placement at the Health Hub for a period of 6 to 8 weeks, after this a new group of students will take over your care with a detailed handover.
Clinic environment
Most appointments take place in larger physiotherapy treatment spaces containing multiple treatment plinths separated by curtains.
Private treatment rooms are also available where appropriate.

Monday: 09:00 – 16:00
Tuesday: 09:00 – 16:00
Wednesday: Closed
Thursday: 09:00 – 16:00
Friday: 09:00 – 16:00
Please note there may be times throughout the year when the clinic is closed due to student term times (Christmas, Easter and August).

If you are a new patient wishing to attend, please ensure that you have submitted a self-referral form.

Payment:
Sessions are £5 per session which can be paid either before or after your session. Please pay for your physiotherapy session online.
For University of Worcester students, sessions are free.
Getting to the Health Hub Physiotherapy Clinic
The Health Hub Physiotherapy Clinic is located in what was previously known as the McClellend centre within the Charles Hastings Building as the University of Worcester City Campus (WR1 3AS).
The clinic can be accessed by car, public transport, or on foot from Worcester city centre.
Travelling by car
City Campus can be accessed from Infirmary Walk via Castle Street.
Blue badge parking is available on site. The closest car parks to the clinic include Castle Market at the Hive (WR1 3NZ), Croft Road Car Park (WR1 3NZ) and Pitchcroft Car Park (WR1 3AP).
Travelling by bus
The clinic is located a short walk from Worcester Bus Station via Angle Place and The Butts.
Clear walking routes and campus signage are available throughout Worcester City Campus. Follow signs for the Charles Hastings Building.
Travelling on foot
The Charles Hastings Building is located within Worcester city centre and can be accessed on foot from nearby car parks, bus routes, and city centre locations.
Campus signage is available throughout the University of Worcester City Campus to support navigation.
Riverside gym
Sessions at Riverside Gym are possible if it has been agreed as part of your treatment plan with your physiotherapist. Riverside gym is located on the University of Worcester Severn Campus next to the University Arena (WR2 5JN).
Arriving at the Health Hub Physiotherapy Clinic
Once you arrive at the Charles Hastings Building, there are different access routes available depending on your accessibility needs.
Stairs route
- Walk up the external steps towards the main entrance
- Enter through the automatic doors
- Turn right towards the café area
- Locate the staircase on your left
- Take the stairs to the lower ground floor
- The physiotherapy clinic will be located at the bottom of the staircase to the left
Please take a seat in the waiting are and your physiotherapist will collect you shortly.
Step-free route
For patients requiring step-free access:
- Use the external lift located beside the main entrance steps
- Press the lift call button
- Once inside, press the lower ground floor button (press the minus button followed by number 1)
- Exit the lift into the building
- Turn right and continue to the end of the corridor
- The Health Hub physiotherapy waiting area will be directly ahead

Is the clinic wheelchair accessible?
Yes. Step-free access is available via the external lift located beside the main entrance steps.
What should I wear to my appointment?

How much are sessions?
Each session costs £5, which can be paid online either before or after your appointment. For University of Worcester students, sessions are free.
How long roughly will my sessions be?
Sessions are usually 45-60 minutes, if you feel you need longer sessions, this can be discussed with your physiotherapist.
Will I see the same person each time?
Usually yes. Students are on placement for approximately 6-8 weeks at a time, after this, a new group of students join the clinic. Therefore, your care may be handed over to new students.
Can I book a gym session?
Yes gym sessions are possible, however please do not book one unless your physiotherapist has agreed this would be appropriate as part of your treatment plan.
