Graduation marked an important moment in Rhianna Levi’s journey to becoming a teacher.
Rhianna, who graduated with a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) in Secondary Education suffered severe parental bereavement during her studies but with support managed to continue and achieve her dreams.
“My tutors were amazing and supportive, especially as throughout the academic year, I experienced severe parental bereavement and also manage more than one mental health condition,” she said. “So, I am exceptionally excited to now be graduating. I and my peers have worked very hard in qualifying as teachers, so it will be great to celebrate all together as a cohort.”
Rhianna said she had always wanted to become a teacher and after completing her undergraduate degree in English Literature at the University of Worcester last year, returned almost immediately to begin her teaching qualification.
“I have always wanted to become a supportive and influential role model to young people,” she said.
Rhianna has now gained a job as an English teacher and is working as a supply teacher across several schools. She is also studying for a Master's degree in Education through Birmingham City University and a PGCert in Tutoring and Coaching through Worcester. “I intend to then go on to work in pastoral care and complete my PhD,” she said.
