“In the span of my mum going to work and coming back… I was a prospective student just waiting to move in.”
For Kieran, the Clearing process was surprisingly straightforward and incredibly fast.
“I was looking at different universities and the kind of grades they were looking for,” he explains. “I found the Biological Science course here that I started, and the grades they wanted were what I had.”
That discovery set off a chain of events that would change his future in just a few hours. “All I did was call up, and they asked me for a couple of references. I got back in touch with my college, spoke to one of my old teachers who wrote me a reference. Within half an hour, it had been sent it off.”
The response was almost immediate. “I got a call back from the University of Worcester that I could start that September. It was a very quick turnaround. Within, I’d say, three hours of me looking into it, I had gotten a place.”
The speed of the process even caught his family off guard. “I remember my mum coming home from work, and I just told her that I was starting university in September. She didn’t believe me because I hadn’t mentioned doing this before as something that I was interested in.”
“In the span of her going to work and coming back, I’d looked into universities, found Worcester, and was a prospective student just waiting to move in.”
