Applying for a Masters by Research
The Masters by Research (MRes) is an advanced postgraduate degree which can either be taken as a stand-alone qualification or as a progression route into doctoral research.
It differs from a taught MA or MSc course by placing particular emphasis on a large research thesis and fewer taught modules.
All applicants for MRes Programmes must submit a 750 word Research Outline when they apply. Please use the attached guidance to Prepare your Research Outline.

We usually have two entry points in the year for the MRes programme: January and September. We encourage applicants to apply as early as possible to allow time for your application to be processed.
