Arriving at university is the start of an incredibly busy and exciting time. Find out what you'll need to do first once you arrive at Worcester.
Your start date at the University will depend on the course that you are studying. Our term dates page has more information on course start dates, as well as holiday and exam periods.
The majority of our new undergraduate students join us on Saturday 14 September, which is the start of our Welcome Weekend.
In order to help the registration process operate as smoothly and quickly as possible for you, all students are given a designated arrival slot, which you will find in your confirmation letter.
If you can’t join us at the time shown in your letter, you are alternatively invited to arrive at any time between 12pm and 2pm on the following day, Sunday 15 September. If you would like to take up this option, there’s no need to let us know in advance – just arrive on Sunday.
If you have any further questions about timings or registration, you can call our our dedicated Arrivals Hotline on 01905 855007.
Arriving on campus
When you arrive on campus, there will be plenty of staff and students wearing bright blue shirts to help you find your way.
You will be directed to the Peirson Study and Guidance Centre, which is near main reception on St John’s Campus.
Collect your student ID card
The first thing that you will do is collect your Student ID card. To collect your card you will need to show us some identification, so please bring with you on the day:
- Original photo ID, such as your passport or photocard driving licence
- Your certificate of registration
- DBS Certificate (if appropriate from offer conditions)
If you can’t attend on either day, you'll have other opportunities to collect your ID card from firstpoint (in the Peirson Study & Guidance Centre) throughout the first few weeks of term.
If you are living in University managed accommodation, you will then be able to collect your keys and settle in. If you are living on campus you will want to know how to connect your laptop, PC or other device to the University network. You can find out how on the Connect to IT services page. We’ll also have lots of members of our IT team available throughout Welcome Weekend, who will be able to help you.
