Yvonne is Subject Lead for Secondary Business with Economics within Initial Teacher Education at the University of Worcester. She also serves as Quality Coordinator and Academic Integrity Tutor, supporting programme quality enhancement, academic standards and student success across education provision.

Yvonne has extensive experience as a teacher, curriculum leader and educational practitioner within secondary education. Prior to joining higher education, she held a range leadership roles in schools, including leadership of Business and Economics departments, responsibility for curriculum development, teaching and learning, and the mentoring and development of early career teachers and trainee teachers. This experience continues to inform her work in teacher education and curriculum leadership.

At the University of Worcester, Yvonne works closely with trainee teachers, school mentors and educational partners to develop high-quality teaching, curriculum planning and professional practice. Her work focuses on teacher development, curriculum design, assessment, disciplinary literacy and adaptive teaching, ensuring that beginning teachers are equipped to meet the needs of diverse learners.

Yvonne contributes nationally to Business and Economics education as a Principal Fellow of the Economics, Business and Enterprise Association (EBEA). This fellowship recognises her sustained contribution to subject leadership, teacher education and professional learning within the discipline. She has presented at national and international conferences and supports the development of teachers, mentors and teacher educators across the sector.

In addition to her university responsibilities, Yvonne serves as a Trustee of a Multi-Academy Trust and as a Governor of a partnership school, maintaining strong links between teacher education, school leadership and educational improvement.

Yvonne has extensive experience working with awarding organisations and has served as a Principal Examiner across GCSE, A Level and vocational qualifications. She also acts as an External Examiner for Initial Teacher Education programmes at other universities, supporting the maintenance of academic standards, programme quality and sector-wide enhancement. These roles have provided significant expertise in curriculum progression, assessment, quality assurance and professional standards within both schools and higher education.

Her professional interests include curriculum design, teacher development, assessment, disciplinary literacy, adaptive teaching, educational leadership and the preparation of future teachers. She is committed to strengthening the connections between schools, universities and professional communities to improve outcomes for both teachers and learners.
