Pengcheng is a part-time PhD student in the School of Science and the Environment at the University of Worcester. Pengcheng’s main research interest is about the genetic mechanism and molecular signals involved in the intracellular signaling for RNAi within plant cells.

In his PhD project, using a chloroplast-located viroid – the Eggplant latent viroid (ELVd) as a tool and our newly established DCL-RNAi transgenic lines, he is investigating how RNAi spreads from the cytoplasm to chloroplasts and its biological relevance to plant antiviral defence.

Pengcheng is a member of the Zhejiang Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Society as well to the Zhejiang Society of Plant Physiology.
