Role Summary

As course administrator for four courses within the School, Laura provides administrative support to academic staff within the School who run these programmes. The role is varied and requires a high degree of professionalism, commitment and use of initiative. Laura is the central point of contact for staff, students and a range of external organisations including partner colleges and is responsible for ensuring the efficient management of all administration relating to her courses as well as making significant contributions to the management of programme quality.

Role and Responsibilities

  • To provide professional administrative support for courses, working closely with the Course Leader to ensure the efficient, effective operational delivery
  • To act as first point of contact for the full range of internal and external contacts
  • To input key course information into SOLE
  • To arrange, prepare and minute when necessary key course related meetings
  • To take responsibility for ensuring the accuracy and consistency of course documentation, such as course handbooks and materials for Welcome Week
  • To provide comprehensive administrative support for the provision of work placements
  • To liaise with and provide advice and guidance to students about the procedures for finding a placement
  • To support departmental meetings and be in attendance to contribute to the work of the department
  • To assist the module leaders with their timetable requests and work with the timetabling reps to plan and collate all timetabling data for the programme/s they are responsible for from the module leaders and obtain and check, accurately inputting the information into the electronic software by the deadline issued from the University’s central timetabling unit
  • To coordinate independently all operational requirements for key School events such as open days or taster evenings
  • To provide administrative support for specific projects related to the courses as and when they arise
  • To suggest content, check and update web pages and social media accounts relevant to the courses supported
