Emily Davies qualified as a Physician Associate in 2017 after graduating from the University of Worcester. She began her career with an internship rotating through Vascular Surgery, Acute Medicine and Emergency Medicine before working in Acute Medicine for five years.

During this time, Emily became Lead Physician Associate within the hospital and joined the University of Worcester's Physician Associate teaching team. She developed a particular interest in clinical skills teaching and simulation, introducing new sessions and approaches within the programme. Alongside her teaching responsibilities, she held the roles of Placement Lead and later Course Lead.

In 2023, Emily moved into full-time General Practice, broadening her experience within the NHS and further developing her clinical expertise. Having graduated from Worcester herself, she is delighted to have returned to the University and looks forward to contributing to the continued development of the course and the evolving Physician Associate profession.

Teaching Interests

I have a keen interest in clinical simulation, using both sim-man technology and also simulated patients. Previously, I have developed and implemented weekly IPL simulation sessions, as well as being involved in several larger IPL events, and value the role of such sessions in learning from peers from a variety of disciplines, as well as from tutors. On the MSc Physician Associate programme, I am module lead for Foundations of Clinical Practice, which incorporates simulation, clinical and communication skills teaching, OSCEs and placemen
