Widad is a Lecturer in Finance and Business at the University of Worcester and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Her teaching covers finance, fintech, econometrics, business analytics, and sustainable economic development. Her teaching philosophy is informed by social constructivism, promoting collaborative learning and critical thinking.
Widad's research focuses on the intersection of finance, innovation, and sustainability. She explores how financial innovation and digital technologies can support sustainable development and the transition to net-zero economies. She has been endorsed by the British Academy as a promising talent in sustainable economic innovation and Islamic finance, and her work has been published in international journals and presented at international conferences.
