Dr Nigel Cockrell is a medical doctor who was a Senior Partner in general practice for many years and worked as a GP with a Special Interest (GPwSI) in Dermatology for Worcestershire hospitals for over 20 years.
Alongside his clinical career, he has maintained a strong interest in mountain medicine, using his medical training to support and facilitate trips to mountainous regions while pursuing his passion for walking, trekking and skiing.
Dr Cockrell has a lifelong commitment to medical education. He has worked as a GP trainer and Honorary Lecturer, teaching Birmingham medical students from their first year through to final year. He continues to contribute to professional standards in healthcare as a GP appraiser, a role he has held since the introduction of appraisal and revalidation for doctors.
