Amelia is a Lecturer in Physical Geography with research interests focused on glacial hydrology and the application of remote sensing (including drones and satellites) to better understand glacier systems in a changing climate. Her most recent work explores subglacial hydrology and proglacial lake dynamics across a range of temporal and spatial scales with a focus on southeast Iceland.

Amelia has fieldwork experience across the UK and internationally, including in Iceland, Norway, Greenland, and the European Alps. Amelia combines research and teaching, with a focus on developing students quantitative and field-based skills and fostering engagement with contemporary challenges in cryosphere science. Alongside her research, she is committed to inclusive, supportive teaching and to creating a welcoming learning environment for all students.
