Amanda is Associate Professor of Interprofessional Education at the University of Worcester. She is an experienced health professions educator and researcher in interprofessional education (IPE), collaborative practice (IPECP) and the development of future health and social care professionals.
Amanda has worked across higher education, clinical practice, NHS organisations, professional bodies and national education and workforce organisations. Prior to joining the University of Worcester, she led Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice at Cardiff Metropolitan University, creating authentic opportunities for students, practitioners, patients and communities to learn and work together. She is particularly interested in how IPE can move beyond the classroom to influence collaborative practice, workforce development, patient experience and health outcomes.
Amanda is a Board Trustee of the Centre for the Advancement of Interprofessional Education (CAIPE), co-chair of its Translating Evidence into Practice Priority Group and a member of its Research Group. Her current work includes collaborative competencies, IPE quality standards, interprofessional simulation and translating evidence into practice.
She has received national recognition for her work in collaborative practice, including the 2025 John Horder Award from CAIPE and the Royal Society of Medicine and the 2025 MediWales Social Innovation Award.

Research Interests
Amanda's research focuses on interprofessional education, collaborative practice and health professions education, with a particular interest in understanding how educational innovation can translate into changes in practice and improve outcomes for patients, communities and the health and social care workforce.

A particular strand of Amanda's work explores how universities can create authentic collaborative learning environments in which students, practitioners, patients and communities contribute to the development of better ways of working. Her work on the ANCLE Café and Allied Clinical Health Hub exemplifies this approach, bringing together education, clinical practice, research and civic engagement.
At the University of Worcester, Amanda is developing a programme of research focused on the implementation, evaluation and impact of interprofessional education and collaborative practice. This includes exploring how collaborative competencies can be developed and assessed, how IPE-simulation and placement learning can support collaborative practice, and how evidence can be translated into sustainable educational and workforce initiatives.

Professional Activity
Amanda provides national and international leadership in interprofessional education and collaborative practice through Board Trustee of CAIPE and co-chair of the CAIPE Translating Evidence into Practice Priority Group, alongside membership of the CAIPE Research Group.
Contributes to the development of national quality standards and frameworks for IPE, including work on collaborative competencies and interprofessional simulation.
Previously led whole-Wales IPE development through Health Education and Improvement Wales and held senior leadership roles within the Welsh Allied Health Professions Committee.
Contributes to national and international conferences, networks and initiatives focused on IPE, collaborative practice, simulation and health workforce education with particular interest in building international partnerships and translating research evidence into practical resources that influence education, workforce development and patient care.
