Catherine joined the University in 2023 as a Physiotherapy Lecturer and a member of the Therapy Placement Team. She first qualified as a Physiotherapist from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2008, and began her career at Wye Valley NHS Trust. After gaining experience across a wide range of clinical areas as a Rotational Band 5, she discovered her passion for paediatrics and specialised in this field in 2012. Since then, she has worked as a paediatric physiotherapist in Herefordshire, Cambridgeshire and Worcestershire.

Before moving into teaching, Catherine completed a secondment as a Clinical Project Manager for the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Integrated Care Service. Her work focused on raising awareness of Allied Health Professional careers, and she loved having the chance to inspire young people who were considering their future paths.

Supporting students has been a consistent passion throughout Catherine’s career. She has mentored both Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy students on placement, and this experience motivated her transition into academia. She now greatly enjoys supporting students throughout their studies and seeing their confidence and skills grow over the course.
