I am a Registered Children's Nurse with a diverse clinical background spanning a range of specialist areas, including liver and renal transplantation, long-term ventilation, rehabilitation, and high dependency care. My career has taken me from Birmingham Children's Hospital to international healthcare settings in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, where I gained valuable experiences, working as a Senior Staff Nurse and have held a role leadership and management, developing expertise in team coordination, and staff development. These experiences have strengthened my leadership skills and reinforced my passion for creating positive learning environments that enable others to grow and succeed. I recently worked at the University of Worcester as a Technical Skills Instructor, where I discovered my enthusiasm for nursing education. Supporting students to build confidence, develop clinical competence, and achieve their potential has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my career. This role has also allowed me to develop a particular interest in clinical skills training, simulation-based learning, and the use of innovative educational approaches to enhance student learning and patient safety.
I am excited to be progressing into a lecturing role, where I can combine my clinical expertise, leadership experience, and passion for education to support the next generation of nurses. Alongside my teaching practice, I am currently studying for a Post Graduate Certificate Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (PGCLTHE), further developing my knowledge and skills as an educator, and strengthening my commitment to evidence-based, student-centred learning.
