I qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Children's Nursing from the University of Worcester in 2016 and began my career within the Neonatal Unit at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where I have worked ever since.
Throughout my nursing career, I have gained extensive experience caring for sick and premature babies and supporting families during some of their most challenging times. Working within a specialist clinical environment has enabled me to develop strong clinical, communication, and leadership skills, while maintaining a compassionate and family centred approach to care.
As part of my professional development, I completed the Neonatal Critical Care Course at Level 6, followed by Newborn Life Support (NLS). I have also completed the Patient Safety Associate Programme through Gloucestershire Hospitals, alongside additional training in advanced communication, leadership, and wellbeing. These experiences have strengthened my understanding of patient safety, quality improvement, and the importance of supporting staff to deliver safe and effective care.
Progressing from a Band 5 to a Band 6 role has provided opportunities to coordinate shifts, support colleagues, and contribute to the development of the wider team. A particular area of interest throughout my career has been education and supporting learners. I have worked closely with students, newly qualified staff, and colleagues across the multidisciplinary team, helping them develop confidence, enhance their clinical skills, and achieve their learning objectives.
I am passionate about supporting others to learn and grow in their roles. I enjoy helping people build confidence, develop new skills, and reach their potential, whether they are students, newly qualified staff, or experienced colleagues. Seeing individuals progress and succeed is one of the most rewarding aspects of my career, and I look forward to continuing to support and encourage others throughout their professional development.
