Georgia Clarke achieved a First Class Honours in Primary Initial Teacher Education BA (Hons).
Georgia said: “I am absolutely delighted to have achieved a First Class Honours after working so hard for three years and having dreamt of being a qualified primary school teacher for years.”
Georgia, from Worcester, is now working as a year 1 teacher in a local primary school, and she has big plans for the future.
“I aim every day to be a role model and to inspire the children I teach, as my teachers did to me,” said the former King Edward VI College pupil. ”I am really enjoying applying theory - learnt through my undergraduate course - in the classroom and aspire to complete a postgraduate Master’s in the near future.”
“My long-term ambitions are to flourish as a teacher, constantly learning and growing from the environments I teach in, with the hope of one day becoming part of the Senior Leadership Team.”
Georgia said the pandemic changed many things about her final year, both academically and socially. “The University moved online, which was challenging, however the University tutors were extremely supportive in this transition,” she said. “My personal tutor and dissertation supervisor were amazing throughout this time, supporting me through every step of my research project. It has made me extremely grateful for the experience I had and the amazing friendships and memories I made along the way.”
Despite being a high achieving student, Georgia found plenty of time during her university experience to socialise and explore the opportunities on offer amongst the University’s many clubs and societies.
“I was a part of the Cheerleading society that won a series of regional and national competitions,” she said. “Being a part of the society gave me a massive sense of achievement and was a great way to make friends, breaking up the stresses of a busy academic calendar.”
