Association for Dementia Studies
Michele Bowers joined the Association for Dementia Studies in February 2017 and is currently the Finance and Projects Administrator for the team. Michele is responsible for the day to day financial administration of the ADS and the team’s education and development programmes, research and consultancy projects.
Michele supports the complex financial and project management needs of ADS by providing financial management and administering and monitoring various contracts. Michele ensures that the budgets of ADS are well-managed, invoices raised and expenditure appropriately allocated. She is involved in the costing, setting up and running of projects, which vary in size, timescale and complexity, raising invoices, processing payments and raising purchase orders.
Michele brings to the team over 20 years of experience working in the finance office at the University of Birmingham. She worked for a number of those years as research accountant for the Medical School before taking a career break in 2009 to raise a family. She studied and part qualified as a CIPFA accountant at Worcester Technical College.
