International Forum for Research in Children's Literature (IFRCL)

The International Forum for Research in Children’s Literature (IFRCL) provides a focus for literary, cultural and socio-historical scholarly enquiry into writing for children, internationally.  Its interests extend to broader fields, as they relate to children and childhood, including drama, performance studies, folklore, illustration and media.

The Forum is a catalyst, enabler and producer of research, research collaboration and dissemination, and associated public engagement activity. It seeks to promote cross-disciplinary enquiry by bringing together expertise and interests from across the University and further afield, and is a base for the activity of an established and growing community of academic staff members, postgraduate researchers and research fellows and associates.

IFRCL houses related research collections and is a refocusing of the work of Worcester’s former International Centre for Research in Children’s Literature, Literacy & Creativity, established in 1997. It is one of several research groups working under the umbrella of Worcester’s School of Humanities and is led by Prof Jean Webb.

We welcome enquiries from scholars wishing to develop or carry out projects as postgraduate students or post-doctoral researchers, and from organisations interested to commission consultancies and projects.
