Pete is a part-time PhD student in the School of Allied Heath and Community at the University of Worcester.

Pete’s main research interest is in the role of emotions and emotional intelligence in professional development and practice. His PhD research concerns how social workers use empathy in their work with children and exploring the impact of emotions on practice decisions. He is conducting a multi-methods study with social work staff from Children and Families services. The study is informed by an interpretative phenomenological perspective, and utilises image creation and visual research methods.

Pete’s supervisors are Dr Helen Scott and Dr Derek Farrell.
