Dominic Ives is one of a number of student athletes that the University and Wolves are working with to help them achieve the standard required to play at the elite level of the sport.

He will join the University of Worcester-owned side again for the upcoming 2017/2018 BBL season, which kicks off later this month.

"I am looking forward to returning this upcoming season with my teammates Ashton Khan and Alex Navajas as they were great last year," said the 6ft 4in forward.

"I am also looking forward to working with the new players, as I believe that they will be a great addition."

Last season the 21-year-old, who is entering the third year of a Sport and Exercise Science degree, played in several games for the Wolves, including against ESH Group Eagles Newcastle, which sadly ended in a 126-97 defeat.

Ives also captained both the University of Worcester team and the Worcester Wolves Division 3 team (the Wolves" non-professional second team) at the same time.
Dominic began his journey to professional basketball at the Canterbury Basketball Academy, playing in the Elite Academy Basketball League, before enrolling at the University of Worcester in 2015.

Paul James, Wolves Head Coach, said: "Dominic is a third year student who has worked exceptionally hard this summer to get himself in the condition and shape that is needed to push for a spot on the Wolves BBL team roster.

"He is one of a number of student athletes at the University that we are working with to take them to the next level of performance and Dominic has certainly earned his place on the squad."

Worcester Wolves play their first friendly game together as a team away at Bristol Flyers this Saturday 16th September before returning home to the University of Worcester Arena play them on Monday 18th September.

They then play their final friendly against Sheffield Sharks on Friday 22nd September ahead of their first league game against London Lions on Friday 29th September also at the University of Worcester Arena. Season ticket holders have free entry for the friendly games whilst non-season ticket holders can purchase theirs at www.worcesterwolves.org.
