The University of Worcester will celebrate the achievements of more than 3,900 students during its annual graduation ceremonies next week.
Graduates and their families will fill Worcester Cathedral for each of the 10 separate ceremonies, to be held over four days between Tuesday and Friday (November 5 - November 8).
This record number of graduates comes in the year when the authoritative Times Higher Education rated The University of Worcester the number one University in the UK for Quality Education due to the impact its graduates have in society.
The University will award a number of Honorary Doctorates – given to individuals who have distinguished themselves in their chosen field - and Fellowships – awarded to notable individuals who will become ambassadors for the University - during the week.
This year’s recipients of Honorary Doctorates are; one of the country’s leading businessmen, Sir Kenneth Olisa OBE; outstanding scientist and campaigner for science education, Professor Dame Athene Donald DBE FRS and Head of Churchill College Cambridge; and teacher and diversity champion, Andrew Moffat MBE who was recently named in the top 10 of global teachers.
Fellowships will be awarded to poet, teacher and spoken word performer, Casey Bailey; leading Herefordshire publisher, Janetta Otter-Barry; and Chair of the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership and phone company ‘Giffgaff’ Mark Stansfeld.
University Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive, Professor David Green, said: “We are very much looking forward to this year’s Graduation ceremonies, celebrating the achievements of so many graduates who have worked hard to achieve their degrees.
