Hailing from New Zealand, Jo joined the School of Sport and Exercise Science in 2022 as the Head Coach to the Severn Stars Netball Superleague team. Jo played netball professionally, spanning a 12-year career playing for a number of franchises, including the extremely successful WBOP Magic and Loughborough Lightning. In addition to her playing career, she was Head Coach to a number of teams including Head Coach at Brunel University before becoming the Director of Netball at Samuel Whitbread Academy.

Whilst working at the Academy, Jo developed a number of young netball players who earned trials with franchise academies, and played for regional club teams. It was during her year of retirement, Jo realised she had a strong passion for elite netball and set about working with finalists and previous title holders Loughborough Lightning as a technical defensive coach.

Jo currently coaches the Severn Stars Netball Superleague team who are determined to make their way up the table standings. She also oversees the Severn Stars Pathway and has helped to put a number of frameworks in place to increase the connectivity, standards and expectations.

Jo is passionate about the development of Netball not only within the Franchise, the Pathway, and the University of Worcester but also the region and wider netball community. She aims to provide as many opportunities as possible to develop and improve young athletes not only as players, but as people.
