Dr Deniz Göl has broad experience in plant molecular biology, genetics, and gene mapping. She joined the University of Worcester in April 2021 as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Professor Mahmut Tör’s research group. She carries out a BBSRC- funded research that aims to reveal the gene functions in the obligate oomycete downy mildew pathogen using small interfering RNA. She pursued her PhD in mapping of lentil genome using recombinant inbred lines and molecular markers. During her master study, she focused on abiotic stress research particularly on salt tolerance in tomato. She has worked in different laboratories and contributed to plant-microbe interaction field, particularly on susceptibility genes in eggplant and tomato.
