Mitigating Circumstances Deadlines (For the full table of all mitigating circumstances deadlines for all courses in the academic year 2011- 2012 please download the mitigating circumstances deadline dates 2011 2012. Late claims WILL NOT be considered unless there are exceptional reasons for the claim not being submitted on time.
If you need to claim for late Mitigating Circumstances please complete the form, attach evidence and write a covering letter detailing the reasons why you were not able to hand your form in before the Mitigating Circumstances deadline.

Mitigating Circumstances Deadlines for courses:
All students are advised to check the dates that claims must be submitted for their course against the detail listed in the document entitled Mitigating Circumstances Deadline Dates 2011-2012 (link above)
1. Undergraduate, HND and Foundation Degree Students (Excluding Foundation Degree Early Years Students)
Claims for semester one work must be submitted before 16 January 2012 at 3.00pm. Claims for semester one, made after this date are now late. All claims for semester one will need to be accompanied by a late claim statement and evidence. Please see the form for details.
Claims for semester two work must be submitted before 21 May 2012 at 3:00pm.
2. All Post Graduate Courses including Masters and all Continual Professional Development Courses
Claims must be submitted within 7 days following the assessment's deadline date.
3. All Teaching Courses must be submitted by the dated indicated in the document entitled Mitigating Circumstances Deadline Dates 2011-2012
4. Nursing students:
Claims for 2011-2012 semester 1 (Nursing finalist 3rd yr, 2nd semester) should be submitted before 3.00pm 14 December 2011
Claims for 2011-2012 semester 1 (Nursing Grad Dips Finalist 3rd yr) and Foundation (Sep 11 intake) should be submitted before 3.00pm 23 January 2012
Claims for 2011-2012 semester 1 reassessment Nursing Finalist (3rd yr) should be submitted before 3:00pm 10 February 2012
Claims for 2011-2012 semester 1 Nursing NEW Degree Course Foundation (Sept 11 intake) practice only should be submitted before 3:00pm 28 February 2012
Claims for 2011-2012 semester 1 Nursing Branch (2nd and 3rd year progressing) should be submitted before 3:00pm 29 February 2012
Claims for 2011-2012 semester 1 reassessment Nursing Branch (2nd and 3rd year progressing) should be submitted before 3:00pm 18 April 2012
Claims for 2011-2012 semester 1 reassessment Nursing NEW Degree Course Foundation (Sept 11 intake) practice only should be submitted before 3:00pm 12 May 2012
5. Midwifery Students:
Claims for 2011-2012 semester 1 reassessment must be submitted before 3:00pm 22 February 2012
Claims for 2011-2012 smester 2 must be submitted before 3:00 pm 25 June 2012
If you are doing a different course, please contact the Student Records Office on 01905 855333 for further advice. Claims must be made before results are reviewed by the Board of Examiners and published on-line.
Mitigating Circumstances are exceptional circumstances outside of your control that have affected your academic performance. Claims must be submitted with evidence on the Mitigating Circumstances claim form. Claim forms will not be considered without evidence. You should read the notes of guidance carefully.
6. Reassessment:
All claims for reassessment must be submitted by 9 July 2012 3:00 pm
Please be aware that if you are claiming for late submission of work you must submit the work within 14 days of the deadline date.
