Entry requirements
Admission to the University of Worcester
Admission to programmes at University of Worcester is by individual assessment in which experience and skills are valued alongside formal qualifications. You can find specific entry details for each of our qualifications on their related course pages. Similarly, evidence of motivation, understanding of the aims of a proposed programme of study, referees’ reports, and further information supplied by applicants are also important.
Acceptable Qualifications (alone or in combination, to satisfy the Tariff requirements) include:
- GCE A Levels and AS Levels
- BTEC Nationals
- OCR Nationals
- Access to Higher Education Diploma
- Progression and Advanced Diploma
- AQA Baccalaureate
- Other qualifications within the UCAS Tariff
- Professional Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3/Modern Apprenticeship
- Scottish Highers and Advanced Highers
- Irish Leaving Certificate
- International Baccalaureate and European Baccalaureate
- International Qualifications
Other qualifications and Mature Students
We welcome applicants who hold alternative qualifications/experience different to those shown in this section who can demonstrate the ability to benefit from the course and show their potential to complete the course successfully.
Although recent preparatory study at an appropriate level (e.g. an Access to Higher Education Diploma) is recommended, students may be considered on the basis of prior evidenced professional/work experience and/or other assessment procedures, and the assessment of personal suitability. University Admissions office staff will be able to offer information, advice and guidance on this process.
Accreditation of Prior Learning Students with relevant previous study at HND or degree level or extensive experience may be considered eligible for Accreditation of Prior Learning. Entry may be possible to Year Two or Three of the course, depending upon the qualifications or experience gained. Credit can also be given for individual modules.
Key Skills Key skills at Level 3 may be allowed to contribute to up to 20 UCAS tariff points towards meeting the condition of an offer. Key Skills in Communication and Application of Number do not satisfy the subject knowledge requirements for courses requiring GCSE English Language and Maths.For more specific information on entry requirements, please contact our Admissions Office on admissions@worc.ac.uk
