Overview

This one-year top-up degree is designed for students who already have a foundation in business or finance and want to graduate with a specialist qualification in international finance. You’ll build on your existing knowledge and gain the advanced skills needed for careers in global banking, financial services, and international management.

With a focus on international banking, financial strategy, and intercultural business perspectives, this course will help you understand how finance operates across borders and within different cultural and regulatory environments. You’ll explore how international banks operate and how financial decisions, including how businesses manage risk and plan for future growth in the global market.

Alongside these core topics, you’ll choose from a wide range of optional modules in areas such as economics, marketing, digital business, and strategic management. This flexibility allows you to tailor your learning to your career goals, whether you're interested in financial analysis, international marketing, or emerging technologies.

Taught by experienced professionals with backgrounds in organisations like PwC, KPMG and HM Treasury, you’ll benefit from real-world insight and industry connections. Teaching and assessment

You’ll learn through a mix of interactive workshops, seminars, lectures, and hands-on projects that bring international finance to life. From group discussions to real-world case studies, your learning is designed to be practical, engaging, and relevant to your future career. Assessments range from reports and presentations to exams and consultancy projects, so you can develop a broad set of skills that employers value

Teaching and assessment contents

You are taught through a combination of interactive workshops, lectures, seminars, laboratory practical sessions, fieldwork, practical activities, etc. Interactive workshops take a variety of formats and are intended to enable the application of learning through discussion and small group activities. Seminars enable the discussion and development of understanding of topics covered in lectures, and laboratory practical sessions are focused on developing subject specific skills and applied individual and group project work.

In addition, meetings (both individual and group) with personal academic tutors are scheduled throughout the academic year.


Entry requirements

Students must have successfully completed the first two years of a degree, or have obtained an HND or Foundation degree in either International Finance or Finance plus experience of studying or working in an international environment.

UK and EU students

In 2026/27 the standard fee for full-time home and EU undergraduate students on BA/BSc/LLB degrees and FdA/FdSc degrees is £9,535 per year (subject to changes in the government tuition fee cap).

Tuition fees are reviewed annually and may increase each year for both new and continuing students.
