Weekly pollen and fungal spore forecast summary

Forecast to 11th July 2025:  Pollen: Grass and nettle at high risk; Spores: High. Please note that this forecast is now only for the West Midlands Region, although similar patterns are likely across many UK regions.

Grass Pollen Count - High

 Pollen forecast for grass with a high orange pollen count.

Grass pollen will be at high risk during warm, dry weather. Most grass species are now over in this region and the season is going into decline.

Tree Pollen Count - Low 

 Pollen forecast for trees with a low green pollen count.

Some sweet chestnut tree pollen airborne, affecting a small minority of hay fever sufferers.

Fungal Spore Levels - High

Pollen forecast for spores with a high orange pollen count.

Alternaria and Cladosporium at a high risk during warm, dry weather. Didymella and several other spore types that peak during warm, humid nights will continue to increase. Any rain or showers will allow Leptosphaeria and allies to increase to high temporarily. 

Weed Pollen Count - Moderate

Pollen forecast for weeds with a moderate yellow pollen count.

Nettle family pollen is in decline for now but a second peak usually occurs later in the summer.
