Management MSc

With a broad range of modules, this masters level Management course gives you a thorough understanding of how businesses function and of the complex organisational issues that managers encounter.

The course is ideal for students who wish to study general business and management.

The course begins with a group of three core modules – Marketing Management, Organisational Leadership & Management and Financial Management– designed to cover key concepts in the critical areas of business decision-making.

In the second semester, you will study a core module in International Business Strategy, plus two specialist modules from a choice of Human Resource Management, Emerging Themes in Marketing and Corporate Financial Management. In addition, you will follow a module in Research Methods designed to prepare you for your Dissertation.

Alongside your academic development, you will be able to develop your key transferable skills, including:
Project management and problem solving skills
Planning, analysis, organisation and implementation skills
Teamwork, leadership and personal efficiency
Communication skills
Practical experience of relevant commercial software
Development of innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship

You can apply for postgraduate taught courses and PG Certs at any time, but preferably as early as possible before the start of the academic year, which begins in September.

Study options

The Management MSc is a one year full-time Masters Degree.

Entry to all courses is available in September each year. Applications for January entry may also be considered subject to availability.

It is possible to study towards a Masters award (nine modules) or either of the interim awards:

Postgraduate Certificate
To gain a Postgraduate Certificate students must successfully complete three modules, which may be all taught or a combination of taught and individual study modules.

Postgraduate Diploma
After completing the Postgraduate Certificate, it is possible to complete a further three modules to achieve the award of Postgraduate Diploma.

Assessment

Assessments will involve both written coursework assignments and examinations in the key areas of management. The Masters award will require students to complete a supervised 10,000 word Dissertation.
