Our Vision
The University of Worcester works hard to increase the environmental awareness of staff and students and contributes to sustainable development through curriculum, research and consultancy, estates and facilities management, governance and through interaction with the wider community.
We understand that Higher Education institutions have an exciting opportunity to inspire, educate and develop generations of students and staff communities who will take their experiences of sustainable behaviour into their every day lives, work, and careers.
We keep up to date with the latest environmental science, ideas, design and legislation, and by doing so incorporate green best practice into university life.
Worcester is the first university in the UK to be awarded Eco Campus Platinum across our campus and we’ve been ranked 3 out of 133 institutions in the People and Planet’s Green League.
The Sustainability Department
The Environmental Sustainability department acts as a focal point for all aspects of sustainability within the University and works to develop local, regional, national and international networks to further the sustainability agenda.
Some of our current projects include: developing biodiversity areas on our lovely parkland campus, promoting new recycling and composting schemes to staff and students and working with local schools to build links and share ideas.
