About the Institute
At the forefront of teacher education for over six decades
We are one of the country’s major providers of education, training and research for the children’s workforce. We have a reputation for the highest quality provision, partnership working and delivery.
Outstanding education
Founded in 1947 as a post-war emergency teacher training college, the University of Worcester has been built from a heritage of excellent education. The quality of our teaching, academic support, organisation and management, places us amongst the top UK education departments.
We are recognised for the impact of our work, which we undertake in close collaboration with partner schools throughout the region. Over many years, our programmes have been consistently been given the highest possible marks by Ofsted in their inspections.
Teacher training, early years and professional development courses
We offer courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, covering Initial Teacher Education (Primary and Secondary), Education Studies, Early Childhood Studies and Continuing Professional Development. We also have an active research culture, with a number of students currently studying for Master of Philosophy and PhD degrees.
