All students studying sport will have the opportunity to undertake modules at the University Arena.
Glyn Harding, Senior Lecturer in Sports Coaching Science said:
“Inclusion and disability sport is at the heart of our curriculum for coaches, sports educators and performers. The design of the Arena will enhance the learning and sports experience for all of our students and the external partners and schools who work with us.”
The Institute of Sport & Exercise Science has a successful track record of hosting and delivering high quality coach education and associated workshops. Short courses for practitioners from a wide range of sports are also offered in the basic essentials of first aid and child protection. The introduction of the arena has allowed the number (and frequency) of courses to increase, in line with student and community demand. As a result, students can enhance their employability skills, become eligible for further Earn as you Learn opportunities and subsequently enhance the overall student experience.
