Kyra qualified in 2011 as a Registered Adult Nurse and joined the ophthalmology team at Gloucestershire NHS Foundation Trust, where she worked for 3 years on the day unit and theatres. In 2014 she moved to Orthopaedic Theatres which at the time was Trauma and Elective surgeries. During this time, she specialised as a scrub nurse within Orthopaedics. In 2019 Kyra joined the Trust's Education team as a Professional Education Facilitator. Here she was responsible for student nurses in practice and providing support to placement areas within the Trust. During this role Kyra created the student council, lead on Practice Assessor updates, started creating rotational placements for students, and undertook a Simulation course to introduce simulation learning to students’ placements.
