Our Law Masterclass Series is an opportunity to experience what it’s like study Law at university level through a range of online taster lectures.

Each session will be hosted by one of our academics and will include opportunities to ask them any questions you may have about studying at our School of Law.

About the session

Land law is one of seven foundation subjects of legal knowledge required for a qualifying law degree. It’s the legal framework that determines who owns, uses, and controls a physical piece of earth and anything permanently attached to it, like buildings, trees, or even resources beneath the ground.

In this session, LLB Course Leader Danielle Hopton-Jones will explore how land law shapes everything around us, from the housing crisis and mega infrastructure projects to your right to walk through the countryside. You’ll also get a first look at how English law balances the rights of individual owners against the needs of society.
