Celebrating Culture, Identity & Connection

Join us on Friday, 6th February 2026, for one of the biggest events of Race Equality Week — our vibrant Community Festival, taking place in the SU Quad from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This exciting outdoor event brings staff, students, and community partners together for a day filled with celebration, learning, and cultural connection.

The festival will feature a diverse range of external organisations dedicated to promoting equality, culture, and social justice. Come along to meet and engage with groups such as:

  • Worcester Afro-Caribbean Association
  • Worcester Mela
  • City council Sanctuary
  • Worcestershire Black Cultural Association
  • Birmingham Commonwealth Association
  • Worcester Welcome Refugee group
  • Jamaica Wah Ghan Restaurant
  • Stand up to racism and many others

Expect a lively, welcoming atmosphere with:

  • Delicious food and refreshments
  • Freebies from participating organisations
  • Live music to keep the energy high throughout the day
  • Opportunities to learn, connect, and celebrate culture

This festival offers a unique space to explore cultural diversity, discover local initiatives, and celebrate the communities that enrich our university. Whether you're curious, passionate, or simply looking to enjoy a great afternoon, this is an event not to miss.
