As part of Race Equality Week 2026, Worcester Students’ Union is pleased to host a powerful and thought‑provoking online panel discussion titled “What Does Anti‑Racism Look Like in Practice?”. This event is open to all staff and students and aims to deepen our collective understanding of what it truly means to embed anti‑racism within our everyday systems, behaviours, and institutional cultures.

About the panel

This session brings together voices with extensive professional experience and lived insight into anti‑racism. Each speaker will share a 15‑minute reflection on how anti‑racism can be meaningfully implemented within their field, followed by an open Q&A session.

Our speakers include:

  • Colina Wright – Interim CEO, Membership Services
  • Peter Urwin – Principal Lecturer in Social Work
  • And one additional speaker to be announced

Together, they will explore practical strategies, challenges, and examples of anti‑racist action across education, leadership, and community engagement. This event encourages participants to reflect on their own practices and to consider how we can collectively contribute to a fairer and more inclusive university environment.

Why attend?

  • Gain a clearer understanding of what anti‑racism looks like beyond theory
  • Hear insights from practitioners
  • Engage in meaningful discussion with colleagues and students
  • Develop ideas for embedding anti‑racist approaches in your work or studies

Join us for this important conversation as we continue our commitment to fostering equality, inclusion, and positive change across our community.
