Opened in September 2008, Sansome is a 20-minute walk from St John's campus and is close to Foregate Street railway station and the city centre. It has 82 single study en suite bedrooms, arranged into ten flats over five floors. Flat sizes range from 8-10 students. Each flat has a large, shared, fully fitted kitchen and dining area with appliances (including washing machine and dryer), pots, pans and cutlery. There's CCTV protection, storage for bikes and all rooms have high-speed internet.

All halls of residence benefit from: free internet access; no extra charges for gas, electricity and water; compliance with the Universities UK Code of Practice for the Management of Student Accommodation; 24-hour security; welfare support; 24-hour emergency maintenance; contents insurance; facilities for self catering; and recycling facilities. All halls are non-smoking. Cleaning materials, bin bags and toilet rolls are also provided for all on-campus Halls of Residence.
