Welcome Week – sometimes known as ‘freshers' week’ – is designed to ease you in to university life.

Welcome Week

During your first few days on campus, we run a series of events to help you settle in, find your way around and prepare you for university life. This is called ‘Welcome Week'.

Welcome Week timetable

You’ll find your Welcome Week information on your SOLE page, including details on how to access your personalised timetable. Once you've logged into SOLE, click on the ‘Welcome Week’ section in the ‘Welcome’ tab.

Your timetable will be finalised and made available before Welcome Week. Please keep checking the link for your timetable with information on the dates, times and content of all your sessions.

Welcome Week events

Your first week features a range of events which will introduce you to other students and your lecturers. You'll meet the people who will be an important part of your time at Worcester.

Academic induction events

Your academic induction starts on Monday 16 September. Activities are organised by your academic tutors to provide you with opportunities to learn more about your course. You'll also meet your lecturers and fellow students.

This is an important introduction to your university studies, so we strongly encourage you to attend. You can also visit the term dates page for more information on events throughout the academic year.

If you need assistance with selecting/updating your modules for 2019/20, and are not able to make an appointment with a Programme Advisor, there will be module selection workshops in the Peirson building (PNG007). These will be held each weekday from 16th September to Friday 4th October, from 10:00 to 15:00. If you need to change a module please use the Module Change Request facility on your SOLE page.

Students' Union events

The Students' Union also run ‘Freshers' Week’, which offer events to introduce you to the social and sporting side of life at the University. There will be lots of social activities arranged throughout the first week.

Follow the Students’ Union either on the SU website or on the SU Facebook page to find out the latest information.

You can also take a look at the Festival Guide for some of the main events happening during the week.

Download our app

Remember to download the University of Worcester Guidebook App on the App Store or Google Play.  This will tell you about events and activities taking place over the Welcome Weekend and your first week.

The app will provide you with campus maps and local information such as shops, banks and travel. You'll also find answers to questions often asked by first year students and who to contact for help and advice.
