If you want to vote at an election or referendum in the UK, you must be registered to vote. The new academic year is a good time to make sure all of your details are up to date.
Here is some information that you might find helpful:
- You only need to register once - you do not need to register separately for every election but you do need to register again if you’ve changed your address.
- As a student, you can register at both your term time address and at the address you live at outside of term time, but you can only vote in one location in a general election.
- You’ll need to provide a few details to register to vote, including your National Insurance number. You can find your National Insurance number on a payslip or on letters from the Government. If you are unsure about your National Insurance number you can get help online or by calling 0300 200 3500.
- The ‘Register to Vote’ button on your University of Worcester MyDay page is a simple way for students to register: www.worcester.ac.uk/students
