Accommodation and student life
Our priority is to make you feel safe and settled in your home. We are developing guidance to make shared living, study and social spaces safer.
Our accommodation will be open as usual in September - as it has been throughout the last year.
We know that staying safe and preventing the spread of COVID-19 requires our whole community to co-operate and follow the public health guidance. If you're moving in to university-managed accommodation, you will be contacted by our Accommodation team with guidance before you arrive.
In the event of a lockdown
- If the University is unable to start any teaching on campus due to Covid-19, you will be able to defer your contract start date to one week before the University is able start your course on campus.
- If the University is required to move all teaching online for a prolonged period (longer than 28 days) due to a resurgence of Covid-19, you will be able to terminate the contract with one week’s notice.
Accommodation application deadline
We understand things are a bit more difficult for students this year. Accommodation applications will remain open even after the guarantee deadline so please still apply. We will do everything we can to find you university accommodation.
We have some University-managed accommodation available for returning students. If you would like to access this new service, contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org.

Student life and campus facilities
When you arrive for the start of the new semester, you’ll receive the same warm welcome that all Worcester students enjoy. You’ll still have access to our beautiful campus and sport, study and social facilities – but the latest government guidelines mean there will be some changes for the time being.
Campus buildings, catering and study spaces
We are planning for all buildings, catering facilities and study spaces on campus to be open from the start of the semester. Relevant social distancing measures will be applied across campus, and pedestrian traffic systems will be implemented in buildings, where appropriate.

Library, computer labs and study spaces
The library will be open – and we're taking steps to make it safer. We're also investing even more in e-books, digital textbooks and journals to make sure you have access to everything you need to support your studies, wherever you are.
The Students' Union is making plans to ensure you have the best welcome and find out all you need to know to make your time at Worcester the best it can be. For the latest information and updates from the Union, visit the SU website.
